Dreams have always had great meaning to the Native American culture. They believe that the night air is filled with good and bad dreams. These dreams are captured in the Dreamcatcher web and only good dreams will find their way down through the centre hole and float down the feathers to the sleeping one . The bad dreams become entangled in the web where they perish at the first morning light.

Dreamcatchers were originally hung from a babies cradle to protect the child from bad nightmares. The baby was entertained by the feather moving with the air, it also taught him the importance of having good air. The feather of the owl is kept for wisdom (a woman's feather) and the eagle feather is kept for courage (a man's feather). Dreamcatchers are hung above the bed to bless the sleeping one. They are said to bring peaceful dreams, good luck and harmony to your life.
